Mined Bodies is a collection of previously unreleased material recorded from 1991-1995. It also features the track "Carnival of the Drunken Rat", the extended version of the song that originally appeared on the Manifestation III compilation in 1992. The song "Barter is Terminal" originally appeared on the 2nd Bureaucracy of Hope compilation "You'dsellaratsassholetoablindmanasaweddingring" that was released in 1996.

John Alan Kennedy - synthesizers (Sequential Circuits Prophet 600, Casio VZ1, Casio SK5 sampler, Kawai K1), tapes, FX/delay (Alesis Midiverb II, Alesis Quadraverb GT, Alesis Microverb III, Digitech digital delay) trombone, bass guitar, flute, digital drums (Alesis HR-16, Roland SPD drumpads), percussion

"606616646666" and "the sk5 stray" were performances recorded direct to 2-track cassette tape through an old Tascam 6-channel mixer. The rest of the tracks were recorded and mixed using a Yamaha MT-120s 4-track Cassette Recorder.

The cover drawing "Mined Body" was made by John A Kennedy during the same time period as the music.
