about

"BELLS was difficult to digest on first listen, but compelling enough to inspire further spins. “Xenakis” was the very first thing that popped into my head because the overall aesthetic nature of the piece seems very much rooted in early musique concrete sensibilities. Listening deeper, i found the entire thing becoming incredibly hypnotic regardless of the occasionally harsh nature of the recording itself, which only added to the eerie and muddled atmosphere. Though sometimes menacing and noisy, it is also thoughtfully layered and paced in a way that feels natural and organic, reminding me quite often of Tibetan religious music, especially in regards to its more repetitive moments. It is incredibly easy to lose track of time if you let the abrasive sonic waves lull you into submission."
